ab separation

my 1st 3rd tri post!

I've heard its harder to get your abs back in shape if they separate during the pregnancy, but how do you know if your abs separated?

  • Dr. Oz had a show on pregnancy and showed a simple way that you could see if this is your case. I am sure it's on his website but it has something to do with laying on your back on the floor. Really bad cases need surgery to fix the problem.

  • you lay on the floor, and lift your upper body, like you are going to do a sit-up. You'll SEE the difference.

  • lie on the floor with knees bent and feel down the dark pigmented line on your belly above your belly button. You shouldn't be able to feel a "split" in your muscle. Under two fingers is considered "normal".

    Is the difference a weird point? When I flex my abs they go up into an extreme point.

  • I don't know about looking different but I def. felt my muscles seperating.
