Anyone have messed up cycles after mirena is removed?

Either I have a 35+ day cycle or I am pregnant with a baby no pee stick can detect.  Anyone have really irrelegular cycles after Mirena?

  • I am 45+ days and am not pregnant. I went off BCP 3 months ago. This sucks. :(  So-in the same boat.

  • Did you have regular cycles on the Mirena? (I am curious because I haven't had a period yet. Not sure if it is because of the Mirena or because I BF until DS was a year. Or both. I do have spotting though. Sad)

I have an apt to get mine removed in Feb so we can start TTC. My doc said that my first period might show up 3 weeks later, or has has had patients go as long as 8 weeks. Sometimes it takes a while for your body to go completely back to normal.

  • I had mirena removed Nov 11th and had a "period" starting November 15.  On mirena I was not regular - and I didn't really keep track.  Before I was pregnant I was on the pill 11 years and then was only off 6 weeks and got pg in cycle #2, so I really don't have a good frame of reference on what my natural cycle is.

I keep peeing on a stick just in case, but really I know I am just wasting money.

  • I am always very regular but I had a crazy-long cycle after getting the Paragard removed, like 40ish days... I didn't think it would have any effect since it's non hormonal but it did- I would guess that Mirena does a similar thing
  • I got mine removed on the 15th of this month and we are currently TTC. I had fairly heavy bleeding on the 17th and light on the 18th and fertility friend is counting that as my period. We'll see if I O or not in about a week, but I think the bleeding might just have been from removal and not actually a period. I did have a temp dip though so I have no idea! I'm so lost lol

I didn't get any periods on the Mirena so I have a feeling my cycles are going to be crazy and I won't be getting pregnant soon =(

    2 losses
    2 beautiful children
    proud mommy!
