Woke up, a little too early since I fell asleep at 8:30 last night! To find that I literally am snowed in. My front door and back door have so much snow in front of them I cannot push them open. Yikes! Anyone else from Long Island experiencing the blizzard?

Re: Anyone else snowed in?
Are you a teacher? I am in Maryland too in A.A.Co. and we got about 22.5 inches here. I am a teacher and I feel the same way. I can't see how kids will get to the bus stops tomorrow especially since there will be a re-freeze tonight and that is only IF anything melts.
Not sure what part of NJ you are in, but I'm in South Jersey and we got 24 INCHES of snow.

I'm in York, too. DH is out there snowblowing and I just put on coffee and popped some choc chip cookies in the oven for him when he gets in. I loooooove being snowed in.
Not a teacher, but in A.A. Co. as well!! We live in Piney Orchard (Odenton). Doesn't the county have the policy that if all the scholl parking lots are not plowed they cancel school? Well, hopefully for you & my highschoolers you get an extra 3 days of x-mas break!!
I grew up in Southern York County! My sister was telling me yesterday about all the craziness you guys were getting!
OP, I live in East Hampton and it's still coming down! I can only see lumps in the snow where I know our cars are :P Thankfully for DH and I, we rent so we'll (and by that I mean "he'll") only have to shovel off our front steps and dig out our cars. The parking lot will be cleared for us!
The news reported a town 10 miles from us has over 22" from yesterday's storm. We were supposed to host a party last night and now it's been changed to today. Now I have to feed dinner to 30+ people!! Ack! I'm trying to figure out what I can make from within the depths of my pantry...
DH bought a snowblower on Friday, thank God. Our driveway is 3x's the length of a regular driveway so there is no way we'd be getting out if he hadn't. And thankfully the neighbors on the flag lot came out to help with the main part of the drive. They didn't want to use the blower on their portion though so I wonder how the heck they plan to go anywhere this week!
Snowed in, in Somerset County, NJ. Up on the mountian no less. It looks like a foot but that's just from looking out the window.Does anyone know the real totals of Somerset County? DH won't let me go outside since I fell last weekend. I finished baking, did 2 loads of laundry and I'm almost done wrapping presents. I'm a teacher and we'll see what my school district desided to do about school.
