mattress for IKEA Gulliver cribs?

Has anyone had trouble buying a non-IKEA mattress for their IKEA crib (specifically Gulliver cribs)? I've registered for a mattress at Target that looks like it should fit, but the measurements that IKEA recommends are maybe 1/3 to 1/2 in different than the mattress measurement. Any brands that you'd recommend?

Re: mattress for IKEA Gulliver cribs?

  • We have the Colgate Classica III foam mattresses and they seem to work well.  I got them online somewhere...can't quite remember where but it was some place recommended on here for the cheapest price on them.

  • We have Tassa cribs (now discontinued) and we haven't had any trouble with standard mattresses. I think Ikea cribs are a little bit smaller so the mattress has an extra snug fit, but I don't think that's a bad thing.
  • we have the Leksvik cribs- and the orig mattresses we got at BRU were too small... even though they are standard size cribs- not all standard mattresses are the same.

We got the Safety 1st mattress from Walmart -which is awesome b/c it's very firm and only $40 --- just as nice as the $$$$$ mattress we got for Griffin from BBB.... We love the Safety 1st mattresses - and they fit nice and snug in the Leksvik cribs.

  • We have IKEA cribs, not the gulliver but the blue one whatever that's called... and have mattresses from BRU that fit perfectly

  • We bought the Gulliver Cribs for the twins. Ditto to Goldie_Locks--we got the Safety 1st mattresses from Walmart. They are nice and firm and only $40. They fit great!
