anyone having 2nd thoughts on name choice?

so, I have been dead set on a name for years, but lately I have been in this love affair with a new name.  All my friends and family know the first name we thought we were going with and now I almost feel guilty if we change it...anyone having second thoughts on a name you were planning on?

Re: anyone having 2nd thoughts on name choice?

  • We did because it is so popular. So we have a new name but we aren't ruling out our initial choice either.

  • Choose whichever name you love. When you see your little girl you'll know which one that is.
  • Go with what you love and feels right...just because you told people doesn't mean it's set in stone...some people will probably even enjoy the suprise change up when her name is announced! That being said I second guessed our names around 30 weeks and then ended up staying with what we had already decided...I think it was just hormones for me since we don't share names I was irrationally thinking they were terrible!
  • I love the name I chose, which is John. It's after my Grandfather, who was just an amazing person. What I don't love is my inlaws refusing to call him John, and calling him Jack. SO IRRITATING! That's not his name.

That would seriously make me angry.  Hopefully your DH will set them straight.

Our girl will be Charlotte and everyone is already picking the nn they want to give her.  Ummm ... she'll be called Charlotte.  If we wanted her to be called Charlie/Lottie/Char we would have named her that.

I agree!  You can love 2 names, and if you still can't decide, you will know when you see her.

I know several friends who told us LO's name and then when baby was born went with a different one.  It's not set in stone until it's on the birth certificate :)
