Creatively Challenged

I am so creatively challenged!  I need ideas for twin girls rooms.  I know that I want two coordinating crib sets but I have real trouble with what matches and what clashes.  I have always been the tom boy type and am not in love with pinks and purples but I love blues.  So when we found out we were having 2 girls, I knew that designing the room would be quite difficult for me.

So, do you ladies have any suggestions? PIPs are always welcome.  Show me your babies rooms! Thanks so much ladies!

  • You can still use blue in your girls room- having a vagina doesn't mean you have to cover everything in pink or purple :P PBK has some awesome rooms :)

I agree that you don't have to use pink & purple! If you want some 'girly' in there, you could do accents that are pink/purple or just things that are more typically girl (flowers, butterflies, etc).

My twins are b/g and I have Migi Alphabet bedding- I dont think it is boyish at all and the rest of my room is done in neutrals or a variety of lighter colors.

When you say 2 coordinating bedding sets, do you mean 2 of the same or 2 that 'work' together? I thought I wanted to do 2 different ones for my twins that would somehow work together but I have to say, it was a lot more difficult than I thought, and having the same is actually just easier since everything is interchangeable if need be.

  • I felt the same way with boys' rooms - I don't like blue rooms b/c I feel like they're cold/dark sometimes, but I struggled to make the room look boyish.  (I'd feel similarly with girls' rooms, I also am no fan of pink or purple)

I went with the bedding I'm linking below, which I think works for boys or girls.  It's got a nice mix of blue, green and yellow, and I'm doing the walls very pale yellow.  I'm using a very light blue area rug to give that blue boyish accent, and am putting light blue canvas organizers along a couple shelves.  I think the room overall with feel bright and cheerful but the blue accents will give enough of a boy feel to make it work.

  • I ran and took some pics for you. I am not a girly girl either and I just had 2 more girls. I choose a bedding set from PBK (at their oulet) that was green with touches of pink, blue and orange. Painted the walls with a blue and have it as the sky. Got a wall sticky (they rock) tree and blutterflys from target....
