How exactly do you go about doing this? I see mention of them on here but I'm not quite sure how to use them. DS hasn't needed them yet, but it would be good to know ahead of time.
Thanks!

for the nose? you just put the tip close to the nostril, squeeze a couple drops in there, let it sit for a few seconds and suck it back out with the bulb suction.

oh, and sometimes it's easier to do if you stand at baby's head (looking down at their feet), brace their head between your forearms (to keep the head from turning), and then do it.

Its pretty basic, so PP's covered it.. but I just wanted to say my DD has never had much objection to using the drops and suction and we have been needing to it 2x per day since she was 10 wks old. She doesn't seem to care at all.. so I have never had to brace her or make her mad.
Be sure you are using plain old saline though, not the one with added decongestant. You can only use the decongestant one for 3 days at a time because it can cause an addictive reaction, per our pedi.
Re: Using saline drops?
When DD least expects it, drop a few drops in each nostril. She'll hate it, but they do help.

Awesome, thanks, ladies!
I kind of figured that's how it worked but wanted to be sure!
This. I think the mist/spray is a lot easier, and she actually responds better to it.
agreed! And we went through a phase where she did need them badly.
