Today at my doctor's appt. they told me I had a small amt of protein in my urine (+1). I has the same number last Friday as well. Thankfully my blood pressure has been normal the entire pg. I also don't have any swelling in the face or hands. They ordered a urinalysis to rule out a UTI and they have me doing a 24 hour urine collection Sunday. Does anyone know what they are checking for? Has this happened to anyone else?
Re: Protein in urine but normal BP?
That's what I assumed too, but can they predict that pre-e may begin from protein in the urine? If I have protein in the urine, but my BP is never even close to high, then it can't be pre-e, right? I also wonder if there is something wrong with my kidneys. Protein can indicate a kidney infection. ugh.
I don't know a lot about all of the symptoms of pre-e (sorry). I know I did end up getting it but I had high BP and no protein in my urine, my platlets dropped and they had to take the babies. My understanding with pre-e is that you can have some of the markers but not all of them and still have it. But you might want to Google/Bing it?
Sorry -- maybe I'm not helpful at all...I hope it's nothing and you can comfortably keep those babies baking longer
