Early 3rd trimester PG ladies..

How ready are you? We are totally NOT ready here. Nothing is done. If they were born this week there wouldn't even be a place for them to sleep. Still waiting to pick up the pack and play from my SIL.?

?

I think we're in denial here.

?What do you NEED to get done ,and WHEN are you planning on doing it? Thanks!

Re: Early 3rd trimester PG ladies..

  • I wasn't ready at all a few weeks ago. If your babies were born now, though, they'd be in the NICU for several weeks so you'd still have time to get things ready before they came home (I know that sounds awful, but it is true). I would do as much as you can now because your energy runs out so much quicker as time goes on and if you do have to go on bed rest it would stink to have to have DH do all the fun shopping etc. GL and have fun getting ready.

  • I am super type A and I have everything done. Nursery furniture in, monitors mounted, diaper stuff, bath stuff, bottles, cribs, stroller, and PNP ready and everything  newborn to 3mths washed and ready to go....I am anal and wanted EVERYTHING done while I could still do it myself, because I am concerned I will be on bedrest the last few weeks ( already on a monitor and AP17 shots) Even with everything ready, I pray they stay put for at least another 7-8weeks!!

The only thing we haven't bought is a glider - I just think they are so ugly and uncomfortable looking (unless you spend a forutne) and want to see if I can swing it without one....we'll see! :)

    Good Luck!

PS: my sister said all you really need ready is a place for them to sleep and a boob! hahahahaaaa

  • I am obviously not pregnant anymore but just wanted to butt in and wish you guys lots of luck.  3rd Tri is hard because your body feels like it is done and is measuring around the size of a full term singleton but do whatever you have to do to go as long as you can.  And the times you feel like you can't hold out any longer come on here and vent!  It's hard but soon you will have two or more beautiful babies looking at you.

And don't stress over what is not done right now.  As long as you have a place for them to sleep, some diapers, and clothes you'll be fine in the beginning ;)

  • eh, I have quite a bit done, but there's still a lot to do.  My mom came and stayed with us for like a week and helped me wash everything and get as set up as possible.  don't have a glider, need a few more clothes and diapers, etc.
  • The nursery is done and we have all the gear we need, minus some preemie clothes.  I need to wash the bedding and blankets and some clothes and get the car seats installed soon.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • im butting in. you dont really need a glider unless you are BF. we bottle feed and the best way we have found to do that is on the floor with a boppy on each side. i use the glider for pumping and thats about it. youll be fine! enjoy your last few weeks of silent nights :)

I was just wondering this.. when are you going to/when did you install the car seats?

I think we'll install them sometime in early January, just to check it off the list.

We have the same due date!!  Big Smile

  • we installed at 35 wks, 6 days and the boys were born 36 wks 3 days! install and go have them checked out because most people install them wrong.

  • I just started this past week getting the littler things done after posting on here about washing etc.  The nursery has been in for about a month now, and just this past week I started washing and putting away.  we put together our two changing tables (one nursery, one kitchen) and I have the diapers, lotions, etc to put in them and organize, but just waiting for after christmas.  same with the carseats since I think we will need our back seat for traveling to houses with gifts and food.
  • well, we still have one crib from DS and are waiting until Feb (income tax check!) to buy the rest of the big things...I know thats last minute but we are semi-ready now when they come. also, shower in Jan and most things are bought already off registries so after that, we will have pnp w/ bassinets and such. also, diapers (the whole first year) have been gifted to us by DH's grandmother! (best gift ever imho) she did the same for DS and we couldn't imagine it for twins but YES!

i think that we will be more ready now then for my DS who joined us at 29 weeks and came home at 35 weeks...

also, at the new year i am on leave of absence so i plan on getting what i can done (organization and decorating) in the nursery before i get too tired to do anything. i have pulled DS from daycare so that we can save $ (since I won't be working) and I will have a 3 year old at home as well (sounds like good times!)

    Good Luck Girls!!! <3

  • My nursery is done (cribs, bedding, glider, deco).  I have maybe a half dozen outfits, hooded towels & bibs washed & ready to go. Also have 1 box each of newborn, 1 & 2 diapers, a bottle sterilizer and half a dozen bottles.

I have car seats but won't install them until after my showers, which is basically everything else I'm waiting on. My showers will be 1/9 & 1/16.  So far the stuff I know I'm getting is a double stroller, exersaucer, jumper, swing & some warm covers for the car seats.

Hoping that any day now my BIL will offer us anything he has leftover from his kids b/c the assumption is their family is complete.  I have a 1.5 yr old niece so I'd assume they have lots of clothes left over from her, as well as a baby bjorn and maybe some other stuff.

Thinking more then anything, I have a lot of unpacking, cleaning & organizing to do after my showers.  I hope to be working from home by then, which would make it so much more feasible.
