Trying to Get Pregnant

low estrogen

hello! i am a relatively new poster and just wanted some insight. My husband and i decided to go off our birth control in november. i havent had a period since the first week of november and have been having hot flashes and night sweats regularly since going off the pill until about a week ago. i have taken 2 pregnancy tests and both have been negative. i have had bloodwork done by my obgyn about the night sweats and hot flashes and have found out i have low estrogen. i have an appt with my obgyn on jan 27, but she referred me to an endocrinologist and i am seeing him on jan 12. i am only 24 years old and being referred to a fertility group already freaks me out a little. just wondering what to expect? hoping to get some insight from anyone else who has been down this path. thank you in advance.

Re: low estrogen

  • Same thing happened to me and I was freaked out a bit as well. I am seeing a reproductive endroconologist (RE) because my OB thought my estrogen was low. According to my RE, low estrogen is actually a good thing on CD3. My RE is now treating me for ovulation issues, which are unrelated to low estrogen.

You just got off the pill so you should give your body a couple of months (say, 6?) to regulate itself before worrying about fertility treatments.
