Why are nursing shirts also maternity? (ex:Old Navy)
I get that I've still got a little belly- but I don't want to still look pregnant! I'd just like some fashionable shirts I can nurse in (especially out in public) that don't cost $50 each! Geez.
They just expect pregnancy to leave us fat for eternity. Ex.: my sister-in-law gained 100lbs with my niece. She's 4 now and mom just lost 20 lbs.
I was really careful about eating healthy, etc. So I gained 15 lbs during the pregnancy and now I'm 10lbs below my pre-preg weight. I had to go back to my regular clothes at 2 weeks post-partum. I've given up on nursing tops, they are packed up in the attic, they're just too big and ugly.
So when I nurse in public, I wear a nursing bra or tank top with a normal top (t-shirt, sweater, blouse) and a nursing cape. It's from Target and cost about $13.

Amen!! I like the nursing tank tops with a zip up hoodie or button up tops. I feel funny without wearing a bra but these things are sooooo comfy!! And the nursing pads hide nips if they get hard, lol. )

I now base my wardrobe on what's convenient to nurse in, so it's all nursing tanks with cardigans and hoodies for me. ::sigh:: and to think I used to be somewhat fashionable.

Omgoshhhh I totally agree! I put on one nursing shirt and it made me look so pregnant! I wanted to wear it because of the extra room for my boobs, but decided against it since I'd rather not have someone think I'm pregnant.
Re: nursing does not=maternity dammit!

Ditto! I hate it!!!!
I still have a little belly, so I'm glad for my Gap shirts that are slightly loose on the bottom...
I live in Target nursing tanks.
