Babies: 9 - 12 Months

recommend your intro. Sippy Cup!

B keeps reaching and grabbing, and imitating drinking from whatever me or my H have.  So while I don't think he needs to drink-  I do want a no spill sippy cup that maybe we will put a little bit of water in, for him to play with, practice with, etc.

Anything good for them to learn/practice on-  or are they all really the same.

Re: recommend your intro. Sippy Cup!

  • playtex sipppy with the regular -looking straw is our biggest success.  nuby's straw is really big and he hated it!

  • DS uses the Nuby No Spill sippy cups (not the straw ones). He's done great with them. He also uses the Take n Toss sippy cups to daycare and does well with them also. Those are the only two we've tried.

  • we have the Nuby's without the straw, which I originally bought because it's a no-spill cup

  • We have the munchkin no spill, soft top and the playtex no spill.  He does better with the soft top, but that one leaks more than the playtex.  He hasn't figure out how to get any water out of the playtex one yet.

  • Kate likes the ones with the straws better, and she doesn't spill them everywhere. She can use the others ones, but the straws are better for her.
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut

I agree the NUBY is awesome.  Dr Brown sucks- and I have heard Straw ones are the best for kids to use- biggest change from a bottle.

Mom of 3 year old, one year old and one on the way (due late Summer 2013).
  • I thought a straw would be better as well-  but the straw ones say 2 yrs + and the sippys say for infants.  I guess it doesn't matter

hmmm, what to get, what to get

  • We just introduced Jas to the sippy cup and she did really good. We got her the munchkin one with the soft clear silicone spout. She loved it. She's getting the hang of it. She prefers that one over the gerber one.
