anyone have chemical pregnancies with IVF???

so this is my 2nd chemical pregnancy with IVF....I got for my wtf appt on weds but I am curious if anyone has advice...

i am wondering if more labs need to be done?

Anything info would help, i'll post over at saif too.

I had a c/p on my own 15 months ago, then I had a second on after my second IUI. Then I did 3 IVFs in a row. The first was BFN, but the second and third were both c/ps. I had all of the RPL testing done and karotyping and also my doctor did a hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy, and D&C. After all that, we did a FET and so far I've had two positive betas. I won't get my hopes up until after the ultrasound, but so far these are the best numbers I've ever had. It was so discouraging after 4 c/ps, especially the IVF ones... I really thought it would never happen for us. I'm only just now starting to feel a little bit hopeful. Good luck!!

I had a c/p with my 3rd IVF - I had a pos HPT at 8dp5dt, but when I had a beta drawn at 9dp5dt, it was only a 6. Two days later it went down the 0.5.

C/Ps are a mindf*ck....

kiki---were all your "tests" normal that you mentioned?? did they find a reason.

Yes, I had a c/p with my first IVF. My RE did a saline sono before I did my first FET ( which was negative).

I did not have any testing until I lost my twin pregnancy from IVF #2 this past spring. I had RPL done and MH and I both had karyotyping done.

My RE had a theory after my last cycle that my c/p and BFNs were due to one of two reasons. 1- we are carriers of some random genetic disorder so we keep producing chromosome abnormal embryos, hence all the BFNs and c/p. Solution to that would be to do PGD. 2- My embryos are just a PIA, maybe they just don't "like" the standard medium that they keep the embryos in during those 3 or 5 days. The answer to that is to do co-culture.

We picked the less invasive option (co-culture) and so far it seems to have worked (we also transferred 3 for the last cycle). If this cycle didn't work, we would have moved to do PGD. But again, I'm not a big egg producer, so PGD would have been tough.

They kept telling me that c/ps are a good thing medically even though it's tough emotionally. I'm sure you've been told that as well.

Talk to your RE. If you want to move forward with another cycle, see if there is anything they can do for you differently...

I have had 3 over 2 IVF cycles and 1 FET cycle.

After the second chemical, I asked for an RPL panel to be drawn as well as chromosome karyotyping of both MH and I.

I also asked for an SHG to check for uterine abnormalities. That revealed a potential septum or bicornuate uterus and an MRI diagnose the septum. Not sure if that was the issue since I did an FET after the surgery and still had one more chemical, but it's a possibility.

If FET #2 hadn't worked, we would have moved on to IVF w/ CGH testing.

I had 2. One when first TTC and one the cycle right after my IVF. (WTF?) I had RPL testing done after that and they discovered compound hetero MTHFR but aren't sure that's the cause of them. He's going to put me on antibiotics and steroids for my FET in case it's some kind of autoimmune thing.

I've done one IVF and it ended in a CP. I've never been able to get pregnant on my own and this was the first treatment we've done. It was a total mindf*ck. I had essentially the RPL testing done at RIA before we even did IVF because immulological implantation dysfunction is often seen in endo patients, so I was treated for those problems before doing IVF. I was treated with intralipids and heparin.

I had a near-perfect cycle where two "excellent" quality blasts were transfered. Basically my doctor told me that they must have been chromosomally abnormal embryos because a) we treated the immune conditions b) I have a normal uterine cavity and c) my lining was good. UGH! Very frustrating. We are gearing up for a January FET with another "excellent" quality blast and I'm having a hard time getting excited about it.

I had a chemical pg when I did ivf in July. They did not do any testing. I had an extensive work up done in the past since I have had 4 previous m/c's. I hope you get all the answers you need at your appt on Wed. ((Hugs))

All of my tests were completely normal. The only thing that they did 'find' was during the hysteroscopy. The doctor said that I had little wavy bumps on the inside of my uterus and that he couldn't be sure but it was possible that they were interfering with implantation. So he removed them and smoothed it out. Otherwise everything was normal.

I'm sorry for your losses. ((hugs)) I've had 2 c/ps and 2 b/os. 1 c/p and both blighted ovums were from IVF cycles. After my 2nd loss, we did a RPL panel and we had the "products of conception" tested. The embryo was a chromosomal mess and I only tested positive for Factor V Leiden. I now take Lovenox when I'm cycling to prevent excessive clotting. Other than that one minor issue, we're both normal.

I've also had a diagnostic and an operative hysteroscopy but that's because my former OB was an idiot who was overzealous with my last d&c. It created scar tissue in my uterus that not only affected my uterus' ability to develop a healthy lining but would surely impact implantation.
