Got some good news yesterday

My DH has been unemployed since mid-May, and I was laid off at the end of October.  Aside from Tyler's birth, it's been a tough year for us.

But yesterday, my husband got a job offer and he accepted!!!  I am thrilled, of course.....this economy is so scary right now.

He had been looking to change careers and wasn't quite sure how he would be able to do it.  You know how it is......you're in one line of work for a while, and that's where your experience is, so changing often means starting at the bottom again and/or taking a huge cut in pay.  He was able to take a leadership position for this company that does not involve hours on call (as his old job did), and is something he can definitely see making a career out of.  He will be doing contract work for GE through the company that hired him.

But the best news of all........the company wants him to start immediately.  His first day will be December 28, and we don't have to go visit MIL over the holidays this year!!!!!  If only I could do a jig and not piss him off over that piece of information  :)
