Sorry our story is so late. I have hardly been able to get on my computer in the past two weeks. On wednesday 12/2 at my last prenatal appt. my BP was through the roof, I was in PreE and my baby B was breech. It was finally decided that my LO's would be delivered within 24 hours by C section. I was originally supposed to have surgery at 9:30 am 12/3 but my surgery was postponed until 1:30 pm. I was absolutely fine with having a C until it took 3 tries to get a foley catheter in, then 3 tries for my spinal. I got horribly anxious in the OR when it finally hit me I was having surgery wide awake. I experienced horrific chest pain during the surgery from pressure in my chest cavity. The minute my baby girls came into the world it was all worth it. We got the shock of a lifetime when my baby A weighed in at 6lb 3 oz and baby B was only 4lb 11 oz, tiny as a little doll. Amazingly the smaller twin had a higher APGAR of 9/9 her big sister was 7/9 with the cord around her neck once. The whole pregnancy the girls ran concurrent on their growth scans, but it turned out Lillyann (baby b) had IUGR. My blood pressure got worse after the surgery, and I developed a horrible GI virus that kept me in the hospital an extra day. Finally yesterday (14 days post surgery) at the OB's office my BP had returned to normal. The girls have gained back their birth weights and then some averaging 1- 1 1/2 oz a day! Elisabeth ( baby a) originally had a murmur that has already dissapeared, and is jaunticed. Lillyann.....is just tiny but gaining at breakneck speed. Thank You all for this site, it helped keep my sanity during 7 weeks of modified bed rest!
