What do you cover your LO's up with at night to sleep. Do you swaddle and/or use a light blanket? My girls had low temps in nicu so I wanted to make sure they stay warm at night but worry about SIDS. Any suggestions on what you do.
We were told definitely no blankets by the NICU because of SIDS. We use the halo sleep sacks. We have sleeveless ones and ones that are made for swaddling. If you google on halo sleep sack you will find the website. If it is a really cold night, I put them in fleece pajamas and the fleece sleep sacks.

I was going to just ask this question. I was looking into getting a set of bedding for the cribs but do I need the blankets? Will they ever use the blanekets? At what age can we start using them. I am so lost with this baby stuff!

What size sleepsacks do you have? We just stopped swaddling, so I wanted to start using these and bought the smalls...but they're HUGE on my babies. The size is for like 12-18lbs or something, and mine are both over 12lbs, but the neck on the sleepsacks is so huge it seriously will ride up and cover their faces...which is kind of the opposite effect we're going for with the sacks, you know?
It depends on how warm your house is I think. We tried many combos until we found the right one for our babies. NONE of the combos involved actual blankets.
We swaddled until about 3.5 months -- depending on the temp of the house we did just a onsie, just pj's or onsie + pj's under the swaddle.
After the swaddle ended we moved to the above options under a Halo Sleepsac and that's what we still use.
We swaddled them in a fleece blanket, that's what the NICU had done. We just made sure it was a tight swaddle, and they always stayed plenty warm. They actually swaddled for quite awhile...I was starting to worry about them outgrowing their blankets! Then they slept with no blankets for awhile, and now that they're older they have fleece blankets again that they just like to snuggle with & rub on their faces.

We started out by swaddling with a fleece blanket but were told not to when we talked to the NICU nurses. They said it is ok to swaddle at the hospital because the babies are on monitors and the nurses know how to swaddle so that the blanket doesn't go over their heads. We decided to be more conservative and just go with the sleep sack.

Is there a smaller size?
