I've mainly been lurking on 0-3 but I haven't noticed too many other very little babies on here! My DS was born at 5lbs 14oz and it took him almost 3 weeks to get back to his birth weight! I had him at 38w4d so he was full term! He's just such a little eater!
Any else have a very little guy or gal? How are they gaining?
Re: I feel like the odd ball! :(
My son was 7lb12oz so I don't apply here, but I just had to say how beautiful your son is!!

Birth (38w5d) - 8lbs
Left Hospital (5 days old) - 7lbs, 7oz
1 week appt: 7lbs, 11oz
2 week appt: 7lbs, 14oz
He's not teeny, but we're in the same boat with getting back to birth weight.
Yea my Pedi recommended supplementing formula so I started giving him Similac during our night feedings! I really hope that helps!
Thanks!!!
Thanks for sharing! I needed to hear this!!!!
My little guy was 5lb 10oz at birth
8lb 3oz at 1 month
10lb 13oz at 2 month
He was little at birth, at 40wks on our due date, but is gaining like crazy now. I can't believe the changes already.
Are you BF or FF?

Weight! Sorry if that wasn't clear! How much weight do babies normally loose! I thought loosing in the first few days is normal? Is 10% high?
10% is the max they allow babies to lose before supplementing. DS was born at 7.0 lbs, was 6.10 at 12 hours (and 9 wet diapers later), and then 6.6 at 36 hours. Our cut off was 6.5 so during that overnight we started attaching a feeding tube to my breast and have him supplement while BF. He maintained the weight during the next 24 hours and then started slowly gaining. Yesterday he was weighed at 7.5 lbs. My milk supply never came in at all though, so now he's practically EFF. I pump daily but only produce about 1-2 oz total so the rest is formula.

DD wasn't that little, she was 6 lbs 6 oz. She's gaining a lot now.
And you look tiny, so no wonder your LO is a little guy! Don't fret. Just like adults, some babies are smaller and some are bigger.
Wow! 9 wet diapers in 12 hours is crazy! What formula are you using?
In the hospital they gave us Enfamil Lipil. They asked me what I wanted and I mixed that up with Similac. He was very gassy, fussy, and got a lot of hives after almost every feeding once we got home. So I had a sample of Similac Soy and he seems to be doing better on that. He wants to feed about every 2 hours (between 3-4oz) and still has a ton of wet diapers daily which is probably why he doesn't weigh more.

Oh ok! Thanks! I just started supplementing similac at night! He's still only feeding about 2oz every 3 hours or so!
Does you Pedi know why he's having so many wet diapers? Well it's good that he's gaining at least though! GL with everything!
Wow so took a month to get back to birth weight? That's crazy!
Our little guy was only 5 lb 11 oz at birth and was born at 39w6d (so definitely full term)
Here are his weights so far:
birth - 5lb11oz
3 days - 5lb
6 days - 5lb6oz
9 days - 6lb2oz
2w6d - 7lb
3w1d - 7lb3oz
4w3d - 8lb
today (9w3d) - 10lb9.6oz
Holy crap that kid can eat. On day 3 he was in the 2nd percentile for weight. Today he was in the 20th percentile.
