Bedtime works like this: 8pm or so...bottle, then PJs, a book, then bed. We feed them again around 11 - doing a dream feed if they don't get up on their own - then back down where they usually stay until at least 6am - somtimes 6:30 or 7, though not later. I don't know if it's bad to do that 11pm feeding...what do you guys think?
DH and I are debating if we should drop this feeding or not and see what happens. To me, it's good that they sleep straight longer (for everyone in the house, not just them or us). Also, if we add up how much they eat in a day using the general body weight x 2.5 formula, they don't necessarily get enough ounces in a day without the 11pm feeding, so if they were to sleep straight through, they'd be missing 4oz each day since they still only eat about 4oz each feeding - occasionally asking to be topped off during the day with an extra oz. or 2.
I know all we can do is try, which we'll do over the weekend since tomorrow is my last day of school before the holiday and the kids are going to be NUTS so I'm keeping that feeding for selfish reasons tonight.   But I don't want to screw these kids up somehow!!

Re: kind of an XP: bedtime routine for 4 mo. olds...
their last meal is around 8 and they sleep until 7am, sometimes 730. IF my son gets hungry, he wakes up on his own around 10 and I feed him, but I'd say 90% of the time he doesnt need that additional feeding.
I guess I dont understand the dream feed? It doesnt even give them the opportunity to go a full night's stretch on their own.
