Pregnant after a Loss

still spotting....brown this time

I'm getting tired of this. I now have brown streaky stuff and I'm worried that I'm at the beginning of the end.....

Any reassurance? Thanks!

Re: still spotting....brown this time

  • I'm sorry you're dealing with this.

If it makes you feel any better, I had brown spotting from week 5-8.  It finally started tapering off, and I'm on my 2nd week without it.  And, so far, so good.

  • I don't have any reassurance, but I wanted to say good luck and I hope they figure out where the blood is coming from.

  • How much/how often were you dealing with it? How were your betas? I'm hoping I'll get word on my betas this afternoon (if not I will be calling and being obnoxious) and that will tell a fair amount about what's going on thus far....

  • It was there almost every time I went to the bathroom for those three weeks.

I don't rememeber my beta #'s.  The Dr's were happy with the progress on the #'s, though.

I really hope it's all going to be ok for you, too.

  • i'm sorry you're dealing with this, i know it's really scary and stressful. lots of things can cause spotting. i hope you get the answers and reassurance you need, ASAP. *huge hugs*
  • I'm so sorry you are still dealing with this. Did they do any kind of exam at your appointment that might have caused it, an u/s or exam? Good luck! I have my fingers crossed that you get nice high betas back.

  • I'm sorry that you're going through this... that stinks!  The good news is that brown blood is less worriesome than red/pink.  Hang in there, hun.
  • when did your bleeding start?  what day/time?

the reason I asked is because my OB said that it takes at least 48 hours for bleeding to work its way through the system once it started.  I had some a bit before at about mid-4 weeks and it went on for 3 days.  but other ladies have had it longer and also been fine!

  • I am currently going through the same thing! My spotting started at 6 weeks 3 days.  I am now 8 weeks 1 day and it still hasn't stopped! It started out red, but within an hour, turned brown and has stayed brown for these 2 weeks now. Dr has done 2 u/s and found baby and a good strong hb.  He said whatever is causing the spotting is not bothering the baby, so not to worry.  Had beta's done in there too at CD 30 and they were really high (not sure what is was off the top of my head.....17,000 maybe? it is in my siggy).

Try not to worry! Are you getting an u/s done?

  • Hang in there  Sally....  I am praying for you and your LO.  Just relax (I know that's easier said than done) and get in touch with your ob's office this afternoon.  Let them know what's going on too.  My office said if I have ANY concerns, whatsoever, I should call.  They are more than happy to answer questions, and hopefully your office will be the same way.  Let me know how the rest of your day goes.  I'm working overnight tonight, so I'll be around on my blackberry later.  ((((hugs))))

  • Hope everything turns out ok. I had brown spotting for over a week when I was around 8 weeks. Everything has been fine so far. The doctor heard the heartbeat again on the doppler last week and we have been listening to the heartbeat as well on our own doppler even before my last appointment.
