My sister-in-law will find out today if she's pregnant (2nd round of IVF and I am crossing my fingers for her!!)
If she is pregnant, I am giving her a "pregnancy survival kit" for Christmas with decaf coffee and stuff. I also want to give her a silly (but hopefully helpful) "advice list" for pregnancy, delivery, and motherhood. Not that I'm an expert yet, but I thought it'd be fun.
Anyone have any advice to share?
Re: Advice for Pregnancy and Motherhood
ALWAYS cover the babys bottom while changing a diaper lest you get peep or pooped on!
Oh great idea!!
Advice her to keep a pantry full of easy snacks to eat. Many times I look into the pantry for something that I can eat while feeding lo or eat in a few minutes.
Always have diaper/feeding materials available in the 2-3 rooms that you spend the most time in. We have a diaper/feeding station in the nursery, master bedroom, and the living room.
to have burp clothes stashed EVERYWHERE in the house, diaper bags, and cars (just in case)
get her a really nice water bottle so that it is easy for her to get water intake
to get Always Infiniti pads... they are super thin and super absorbent. I had pads, but love these (they feel more like a panty liner, even the super absorbency)
and yes, I agree with the PP, about the letter for a bad day- also maybe a coupon for dinner or house cleaning (for both pregnancy and after LO is born) if you live close enough
and that of course to cuddle your LO as much as possible because as it says in Blair's blog "babies don't keep"
