I need some advice...please don't flame me!
I've had a fever now since Tuesday at 2 pm. It comes real hard, making me shake with cold so bad my muscles hurt afterward, I take tylenol, and then about 30 minutes later it clicks in and I'm SOO hot for about an hour, and then the fever breaks and I'm drenched in sweat. This happens about every 4 hours, even in the middle of the night. I called the doctor/labor and delivery/hospital three times, Tuesday night, wednesday night, and tonight. She keeps telling me the same thing, "you're fine as long as it doesn't get over 101.5, just take tylenol and drink water".
It doesn't get to 101.5, at it's highest, it's usually about 100.5ish. But it's just been going on for days and it really wipes me out, makes me super weak, and I'm worried about the baby, not mentioning all the shaking from cold has made all my muscles feel horrible! Right now if I were to go into labor, I'd be too weak to push!
What would you do in my position? I'm thinking that tomorrow I might just go to my doctors office or the er or something and DEMAND they do something! Obviously something is wrong with me right? People don't just have a constant 4 day long fever, but my doctor won't do anything about it! She just keeps prescribing me Lortabs for the aches and pains!
What do you think I should do?
Edited to add, I'm feeling normal fetal movement
Re: Fever question...
I've always heard that the dangerous point is 100.4
So I'd get your ass in ASAP.
See I'd heard the same thing, but all the people I called said don't worry until 101.5! And then not to mention the duration of it!
Where should I go? Emergency room now or doc's office/hospital tomorrow?
If I go in now, my temp will be normal, the fever has already broken for this 4 hour time period!

If you have a fever, you have some kind of an infection and who knows what it is? They should have you come in and do a white blood count to see what's going on.
I would go to the E.R.now if I were you. BUT.... I'm a very Nervous Nelly so take that with a grain of salt.
At the very latest, I would DEFINITELY go in tomorrow morning and be checked by a competent doctor.
