Weigh-in Wednesday

Ugh?.six weeks and only two pounds to show for it!  I?m getting a little discouraged, but it was a rough week again with 2 holiday parties and a b-day party.  I don?t think I even ate that poorly ? just didn?t get much of a chance to exercise and drank more than two glasses of wine at the parties.  Oh well?at least I didn?t gain, right?  My goals are staying the same for this coming week ? I think the water before eating really helped!

My goals for this week are:

My current weight: 149   My goal weight: 125   Pounds to go: 24

My weight loss goal for this week:  2 pounds

Exercise goal for this week: Walk outside or on treadmill twice, do exercise video twice

Dietary goal: Drink a glass of water before every meal.

Motivational tip:  Finish wrapping presents once the kids are in bed and work out while they are napping ? it?s okay if they walk in on me working out, but NOT if I?m wrapping gifts!!!

Recipe: Parmesan Tomatoes ? Here?s an idea for a low calorie, low, fat appetizer for the holidays.  It also would make a nice side dish or lunch if paired with some grilled chicken.  Be sure to slice the tomatoes on the thick side so they don?t fall apart.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon brown mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup shredded part skim mozzarella cheese

Directions

1.       Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2.       Arrange tomato slices in a single layer on a baking sheet. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, parmesan, Dijon mustard, and brown mustard. Season with oregano, and salt and pepper to taste. Use a spoon to top each tomato slice with a small amount of the mayonnaise mixture. Sprinkle with mozzarella , and then top with parsley.

3.       Bake in preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve immediately.

Discussion topic:  Are you an ?emotional? eater?  What can you do to overcome it?

I definitely go through emotional eating phases.  It?s probably more when I?m tired that my emotions (and food) get the better of me, so I guess trying to get more rest and having healthy snack available, and NOT having cookies and junk food around would really help!

Re: Weigh-in Wednesday

  • Hello!  I am frustrated too - I checked back and my weight has gone up and down and then up again.  I have continued my workouts before work Mon, Wed, and Fri and it has made me feel a little better but that has not helped the scale at all.

To answer your discussion question - I am a huge emotional eater and I have a lot on my plate right now so I have been stress eating and eating on the run.  Plus I am 1 week from my period and this is the week that I would eat my own arm off if that was all that was available.

The only thing I can do is keep trying...harder!  Good luck to all of you!

  • Where are all of our weigh-in MoM's??  I know it is a crazy time of year and people are traveling but we are also going to more parties and eating more and off our normal schedules.

I know for myself I haven't seen a huge change but I like checking in with people who have the same goals and struggles.

mnj917 - I am glad you are doing this, I was just wondering if anyone else is out there?

  • Sorry I am late entering in

My current weight: 166   My goal weight: 110   Pounds to go: 56

My weight loss goal for this week:  2 pounds

Exercise goal for this week: Workout in general

Dietary goal: Drink more water or tea, no more pop

Motivational tip:  Finish cleaning the front room so we can get the treadmill out of the hallway, so i can train for a half marathon in June.

I am not really an emotional eater more of just an eater, lol. I need to get crappy food out of my house and stop buying things to make cookies or atleast buy stuff to make them better.

Good luck to everyone on their journey.
