Stay at Home Moms

new here,introducing myself.

Oh my gosh, how did I miss THIS board?  I guess I stopped going down the list after high-risk pregnancy.

I've been a SAHM for a year and a half.  As of 3 1/2 weeks ago, I now have 2 little boys.  I'm relatively new in my community and don't know many people.  DS1 and I used to go to the library, the park, the Y, stuff like that to get out of the house.  Now that DS2 is here and it's freezing outside, we are soooooo confined to the house.  I don't want to say I'm going nuts, but I'm definitely lacking in the adult interaction department.  DH works 12 hour days and is normally exhausted when he gets home (he tries to help with the nighttime feedings, too).

Anyone have any words of advice or support?

Re: new here,introducing myself.

  • Welcome!  I'm new here myself, and in a similar situation to you - new community, not knowing many people, too cold to get out of the house.  No words of support or advice really......since I want to know the same thing!  Smile

  • I just found this board myself and I love it! My hubby works 12 hours days too and I only have 1 little guy so I don't know how you do it- I hope it gets easier soon!
  • Welcome!

    Married to J since 5/05, Mommy to T (10/08), L (08/10) and C (02/13) who was born at home.

  • When we moved to our new house we started attending Gymboree Play and music.  They let you bring new baby, older kiddo gets to have a fun filled exertion of energy, and its a great way to meet fellow moms.  As far indoor activities, I am running out of art projects myself.  ha ha ha.  oh, and as for adult conversation I def. used the word choo choo instead of train to adults the other day....oops! feel your pain!
  • Congratulations on your two little boys and a BIG welcome to this board!!!

We talk a lot about ways to stay occupied and sane during these cold, Winter months, I bet you'll have a ton of ideas soon!  My 3-year old especially LOVES to make forts, put up her beach tent and play in my sink in some warm, soapy water.  She's also a huge fan of Play-doh, Bend-a-roos, the Aquadoodle and helping me make/stir/bake/pour anything!

Good luck and hope you stick around!  :)
