Wow, that is a TON of laundry! We are a family of 3 right now as well and I'd say we do 3-4 loads per week. We don't wash towels after every use though. And I was our bedding every other week.

We are a family of 3 but I do about 5 loads/week, sometimes 6. I do all the laundry on Mondays/Tuesdays and then we are done for the week. I know when baby comes it will go up big time for awhile...
I wash towels weekly and bedding every other week.
Wow. Are your two loads a day, full loads? I have a family of 5 which include: DH, myself and 3 girls. We do about 7-8 loads a week. I guess it depends if kids are in sports too because that would be more laundry as well but I still think that is alot.

I do about 5-6 loads a week. I wash our bedding every other week so that adds 1 load those weeks. Also, DS has regressed some in PTing so sometimes I have to wash an extra load of his clothes if he had several accidents.
I do laundry M-Thursday. 1 load per day. Sheets on Monday, Towels on Tuesday, Kids' clothing on Wednesday and Adult clothing on Thursday. It works out well for me.
Every OTHER day of the week I do a load of cloth diapers.
I can't imagine doing 2 loads each day, and we're a family of 5.
Mommy to Barbara 11/8/05, Elisabeth 5/13/07, Loukas 12/23/08 and Lazarus 09/25/12
Fanily of five here and we have 5 loads a week. How on earth do you have so much?
In my house everyone wears their pajamas and jeans twice before washing unless there is an "accident". Everyone has 1-2 towels they can use per week as well. So long as it is hung to dry right after use it is NOT going to get mildewy and nasty.
And I do bedding once a week except for comforters. Comforters I do 1-3 times a month AS NEEDED because we don't sweat all over those (we have a sheet separating our bodies from it).
We're very, very clean and I'm somewhat of a germaphobe- this works for us. Hope it helps you to cut back on some laundry and save on your energy costs!
Oh I must add that we do have a large washer and dryer so perhaps that is why I do less. But still, I do laundry 1-2 times a week for a total of about 5 loads.
Funny to see how diverse all of our laundering is.
2 loads at least per day. We are now a family of 5 and I do have 2 in cloth diapers.
DH works outside, so he dresses in layers and then changes when he gets home. DS (8y/o) wears an outfit to school but usually changes when he gets home to play outside. Needless to say, the babies go through 2 outfits a day.
As of a family of just 2, it's not out of the question for me to have 1 load of laundry per day... So I can see how with a family of 4, you'd be doing 2 per day.
Re: Families of 4: How many loads of laundry do U do each day?

On average 1-2 per day. It boggles my mind too. I also run the dishwasher almost every day, probably 6 times a week.
Sometimes I take a "laundry vacation" and take a day or two off from it. It means a lot of catch-up but is worth it just to have a little break.
There are 4 of us but I get laundry done all in one day.
Wow!! How are you guys getting 1-2 loads of dirty laundry a day??
We're a family of 4 and I do laundry ONCE a week.
Towels/Bedding, Kiddos Clothes, Bibs, My clothes/DH's clothes
Generally equals out to 5-6 loads a week.
Maybe we have a lot more clothing?? The children also do not wear anything more than one time if that matters.
FWIW - I also run the dishwasher one time a day =D
