What's the going daycare rate in your area?

I've been getting pricing because DS will have to go to daycare starting in Jan.

I live in Maryland... Frederick County...

The most expensive so far has been $380 wk

Cheapest is $268 wk

Seems crazy to me!

    Since DD only goes 20 hrs/week we pay $28/hr. But the cost of living is very low here compared to other areas of the country. (I'm in MI).

    I live in a pretty high cost of living area, but daycare is pretty affordable.  I pay $150 per week, and in four months (when she turns a year old), it will go down to $120.

    For F/T Infant care the average is:

    $500/week for nanny

    $300/week for daycare center

    $200/week for church daycare

    $200/week for in home daycare

    I havent checked out home centers.... But regular centers only offer full time care for infants in my area. Part time can be offered once they graduate to the toddler room

    My LO goes 5 days a week to a daycare center.  We live in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis.  We pay $306 a week for an infant.  We have to provide formula and diapers.  Now that he's eating solids they do provide that thank goodness.

    Average when I called around is about $200 / week (give or take), but I found a great place for $150 / week, they are associated with a church and I found that those tend to be a bit cheaper!!

    We pay $400 a month for three days a week of in-home daycare. The centers around here are around $1,100 a month.

    I go to one in Gaithersburg but don't live too far from you.

    I pay $200/week.

    when he was in a center it was 210 a week

    when he was in home it was 100 a week

    i liked the in home 1000000 times better too.  i actually teared up on his last day and we were leaving.

    Damn- I have checked into daycare in the City ( I live in chicago) and the one I liked was 24K a year 5 days a week for an infant.

    My DH has been laid off so he has been watching DS. But he just got a job so my mom will be watching him and we pay her $10 a hour.

    We pay $165/wk/baby.  That's the cheapest I've found.  It goes up from there.

    I live in Baltimore County and while the norm is $330 per week, I only pay $200. It is a christian owned center. We got pretty lucky.

    When we lived in VA Beach it was $250/week

    When we moved to Raleigh it ranged from 250-350/week depending on location but now I SAH.
