my daughter is in preschool and tomorrow is the last day before break, I don't know if I should get a gift for her teacher and the class assistant or not. I have never gotten an overly friendly feeling from her head teacher, she never looks at me when I talk to her and she always acts put out when I ask her about how my DD is doing in her new school. Maybe it's just her personality.
Anyway, my kids parents would bring little gifts at xmas when I taught preschool and it was always nice, so I'm guessing parents will send stuff, but here's my dilema.
I want to be nice and don't want to be the only parent who doesn't send something, but at the same time I'm getting tired of being the only one making an effort to be nice. Would you make another effort or just let it go?

As a teacher, the gift doesn't matter to me but the thought behind it does. Have your daughter make a thank you card for her. I always appreciate gifts that I can tell really came from the student much more.
Also, I can't imagine anyone, especially a teacher, even tallying up her gifts to see who didn't get her one, that would be a sh!tty person, never mind a teacher. I would do what you think is right.
thats a cute idea too
edit: that was supposed to quote the thank you note idea....not the throat punch....I was joking about that obviously.
I got gifts for my DD's two pre-school teachers. I even got her dance teacher a gift. It doesn't have to be extravagant just a nice gesture.
I got the pre-school teachers both lotion sets from Bath & Body Works. DD and I did some holiday baking last weekend so we made a goody tin for her dance teacher.
my daughter sees your siggy pic sometimes and gets excited that your DD is dressed up like snow white, she has all the disney dress up, I'm sure they would have a blast together.
That is so cute! Dress-up is her favorite thing to do. She is getting a Belle dress for Christmas and I know that it will be hard to take it off of her. LOL! They would probably have a great time playing together.
I would take a little something; even a Starbucks card is totally fine. And easy enough to do.
It's more the thought that counts...and this way, you're being the bigger person in the situation. Its more about the kids' relationship with her than yours...Hope it all works out.
