My mom passed away almost 11 months ago and this is something i never got to ask her. My dad said she did not get any, and i am similar build to her, petite, but not that lucky im sure, i had an apendectomy in feb and my scars are already stretching! I just was curious when most people get them, 2nd tri? 3rd tri?
thanks ladies, just curious.
Re: when do stretch marks normally start?
So sorry to hear about your mom. I lost mine last year, so I know how you feel.
I think most women get them in their third trimester. Although, I did get a few small ones on my hip about a week or two after delivery and after losing most of the pregnancy weight. LOL Go figure!
first and foremost, I'm sorry for the loss of your Mom. I'm sorry you have to go through pregnancy without her. I lost my Dad in 2005 and it's not an easy thing this pregnancy stuff without him.
I'm prone to stretchmarks - so mine have already started, probably about ..... 4 weeks ago now! I'm going to invest in some cream for them...but for now am wearing them with pride!
GL!
I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Mine passed away 8 years ago and it's so hard being pregnant and not being able to ask all of the questions that you want to.
My mom had HORRIBLE stretch marks. I saw them...I never needed to ask
With DD, mine didn't show up until 34-ish weeks. I really thought that I was going to dodge the bullet, but I ended up with a road map all over my stomach
I know some people actually have them show up in the first or second tri. It all depends on your body.

I'm so sorry about your mom.
As for stretch marks, they can show up any time, even after delivery, but I think it's most common to get them in the third trimester.
I never got any with my first pregnancy and haven't noticed any yet this time.
My sister and my girlfriend said they got theres during the last weeks. They thought they were out of the woods and one morning they woke up and there they were.
I've already started to use my cream just in case the stuff does work.
Honestly, I noticed two strech marks in my 1st tri at about 9ish weeks. I'm not saying I was growing a bump by then, but I had NEVER had strech marks on my stomach before, and they were def there.
As my bump grew, I got just a few more around the same spot. I attempt to remedy them, but I've heard that if you're prone to strech marks, you going to get them. My mom only has a few, actually right where mine are, and she had 4 children.
So, I'm hoping that they don't get any worse or else it's one pieces or tankini's for the rest of my life.
Mine showed up this week at 23 weeks to the day. I fear what I will look like by the time this is all done. I've already got a ton of stretch marks from my teen years - gotta love those growth spurts. I might as well add some to the bunch!
