I would like a handicapped parking pass

The wheelchair post to me thinking. I would really like a handicapped parking pass. Not so much because it is hard to walk but I live in WI where there is lots of ice and snow and I don't want to fall. Plus I am carrying my 2 year old around everywhere. I see people park in the handicapped spots all the time who don't look like they need it and I do. I wonder how I could get me one.

  • Thank God for Stork Parking at the hospital, PX and commissary on Post.  Of course, on a military installation, they are usually already taken.

  • I hear ya - I live in Nebraska. Walking on ice with this belly is scary.
  • We live in Alaska, so we definitely have the snow and ice too.  My SIL has the same OB as me, and he gave her a temp. handicapped parking pass when she was pregnant.  I plan on asking for one towards the end.

  • You're gonna hate that I am telling this but...

In Ontario most of our major stores and malls have "Mothers; New and To Be" Parking.  They are actually better spaces than the hanicapped spaces. I have just started using those spaces this week with all the snow.

And also my pelvis is dislocated so I feel as though I have earned the right to not have to walk through the snow filled parking lot.

  • ND winters here...I TOTALLY get it!  I am soooo close to done, just hoping my klutzy ways are kept at bay just a little while longer so we don't end up in L&D for a fall....Much rather be there for labor than a fall!!
  • They have ONE of these spots at ONE of the malls by me. Of course it's always taken. I am jealous, it should be a law or something.

We're in Michigan and it's the same. It gets so icy, I always try to be SO careful when I walk outside now.

  • I got one from my doctor so when I park at work I don't have to walk across our ice rink parking lot. Of course I love it....except when some old nasty lady calls me out asking if I am really handicap and where my sticker is...DUH look in my window!
