An FYI about cradle cap

DS had really bad cradle cap, and none of the remedies our pedi told us about worked (olive oil, dandruff shampoo, etc.).  He was scratching at it and had scabs on his head, so one night before he went to bed I put some Vaseline on it to protect it from his nails.  The next day when he woke up it looked so much better!  I did the same thing the next night, and now his cradle cap is completely gone.

Just thought it might come in handy at some point!

  • Or use Selsum Blue Shampoo 1x per week.  Works great too!
  • i use aquaphor at night, and in the morning the flakes are all gone. it lasts like 3 or 4 days, then i have to do it over again.

  • The olive oil treatment worked for us but it has be be used for atleast a week. It looked better after 1 use and then returned in 2 days. I called the pedi and she told me to keep it up for a week even if it looks ok. Just another little tip :)

  • DS had severe cradle cap and nothing was working for us either. Two shampoos with Selsun Blue and a good head scrub later, it is gone completely! It was actually the pedi who suggested it and I was skeptical but it totally works.
