OK. Question one is I am going to a hotel tomorrow with SO's family. We are sharing a room with his parents and I have a major concern. His mother snors. Very loud. And I am a very light sleeper and now even more that I am pregnant. Any ideas on how to get past this for one night? Meds, music, etc. Or just call head and see if I can sleep in the lobby. I am really nervous because if I don't sleep I freak out.
Question two. I know some one who found out she is pregnant and there are some complications. She has a tilted pelvis and she is anemic. Anyone have either of these and how did or is it affecting your pregnancy?
Re: 2 Questions!!!!
You guys cant get your own room??
If we ever go anywhere with my dad and step mom - we get our own room.. my dad snores soooo bad!!!!
ear plugs?
I have a tipped uterus don't know if it the same as a tilted uterus but other than it being difficult to hear a heartbeat on the doppler at 8 weeks nothing. oh I did show early and you are supposed to have back labor with a tipped uterus
My sister is pregnant and anemic she just has to take iron pills. That's it. just Iron supplements.
If I have trouble sleeping I usually take 1-2 tylenol PMs and they will usually knock me out for several hours. Any sleeping pill though I would check with your doctor, mine ok'd the occasional tylenol PM. Maybe earplugs but those would drive me nuts. If you can sleep with music then an ipod/mp3 player with earbuds may be a solution for you.
I cannot help with the anemia or tilted pelvis though, and I don't know anyone who has had these conditions. Although I think some causes of anemia can be dealt with, I honestly don't know for sure.
I would either spring for our own hotel room or bring earplugs and deal with it - take a nap later on, if you can. Can you sleep while listening to music or even white noise through headphones?
I think that tilted uteruses and anemia are pretty common and aren't usually a big deal. I found out at the beginning of this pregnancy that my uterus is tilted - which is probably why I didn't feel the strong kicks until later on in the pregnancy. I don't have anemia, but I did have low iron. I didn't get put on supplements, just tried to add more to my diet.
I traveled a lot with a friend that snored very very loudly and I found that putting in ear plugs then listening to music though the ear plugs worked. Just the ear plug alone was not enough but the music had to be too loud to help but putting the ear plugs in let me turn the music on loud enough! Just make sure you use music that is soothing not energizing!
