3rd Trimester

kind of crappy 36 wk appt

baby has suddenly flipped breech.  dr was surprised she did it so late.  i have to go for acupuncture as soon as i can.  and dr also told me to try lying on a board 45 degree angle upside down to see if that helps.

if not i have a version scheduled for 12/23 at the hospital.

anyone go through a version already?  i know they hurt like hell, so i'm really hoping she turns on her own before then.

  • I found out last week at my 37 week and 4 day appt that she was breech and I don't know if she turned or always has been breech.  This is a list of stuff that I have done:

External version - she didn't move an inch.  It was painful, but I would do it again if it meant having her move.  It is only 5 min long and its a great opportunity to practice your breathing techniques:)

Played classical music on my lower abdomen - nothing

Played heavy music on the top of my stomach - nothing

    Shined a flashlight - nothing

Wrote her a letter and read it to her - nothing

Sat in warm bath water and put frozen peas on her head (twice) - nothing

Chiropractor doing the webster technique (multiple times) - get some movement

Accupuncture with moxibustion (every day since friday) - have gotten the most movement but no flip

laying on incline (every day) - maybe a little movement

doing the polar bear pose/downward dog (every day) - nothing

listening to hypnosis cd on breech babies - I fall asleep listening to this for the past 3 nights ( I don't know if it will work, but I will try anything)

So far the best thing that I have done and I had movement for 2 hours straight was:  Went to the chiropractor to have the webster technique done, then came home and laid on an incline while my husband did moxibustion.  I sat up and in 10 min she was going crazy and we were cheering her on, but no flip.

Things I still want to try:

Go to the pool and do some handstands and do some aromatherapy (pulsatilly).  They say the aromatherapy and moxibustion work well together too.

I have my dr appt tomorrow where they will most likely schedule a c-section.  It's not want I want, but all I can do is my best to try and turn her and if she doesn't want to turn there may be a reason.   Stay positive!

Sorry for the long email, but I hope it helps you and any other girl going through this.
