3rd Trimester

Excercise in the last 2 months...suggestions.

So I was doing good with my workouts up until about Thanksgiving.  Now I am becoming overly stiff and feel I should do something, even if it's small. It's too cold and dark to walk at night.  I have a yoga video that I can do at home, but I"m still working through the end of the year.  I think that in January I will go walk on the treadmill during the day at the gym or do the eliptical.  My baby has already dropped so doing weights and things are tough now.

Are you still working out?  If so, what are you doing?

Re: Excercise in the last 2 months...suggestions.

  • only walking on the treadmill and I'm not doing that nearly as much as I would like to!!!
  • Loading the player...
  • My job is physical, so all I was doing outside of work was yoga.

I'm still doing yoga, but I'm not up for it every day anymore... more like 3-4 times a week. I know exercise is probably more important than ever now but I am so lazy, and it is so cold outside (so no walking!).

  • working out?! yeah right. i walk a lot at work. that's more than enough for me. my back hurts when i get off.
  • I do the elipical for 30 min (burn about 200 calories) and then walk the track for 15 min.  I do that 4 times a week.  I hope to continue until I deliver.  I just feel so much better when I work out- less stiff, less puffy.

I have heard swimming is good, I just hate swimming in general.

  • I have steadily been doing step aeorbics and Body pump up untill this point.  I feel like it might be too much as my belly grows bigger and bigger.  I was able to find a prental water aeorbics at my gym, it rocked!  You might want to check  for one in your area! GL

good for you!  That's quite a workout-45 minutes of cardio total! I am thinking if I make 20 on the Eliptical and walk for 10 I'll be good!  Yeah, swimming isn't for me either I don't think-not into the whole chlorine thing.

  • Yoga and walking.... I also swam early on and have been meaning to get back to the gym for that, it was nice to take the weight off of my joints and it still gave me a good overall workout.

  • No exercise to speak of here. I can't even walk through the grocery store with out feeling like LO is going to fall out of my vadge. I do however try to stretch pretty good on a daily basis.
  • I have continued to keep up my gym routine the entire time.  I go 4 days a week.  I do the eliptical for 20 minutes (much slower now) and then either the bike or treadmill (only walking now) for another 10 minutes.  I then do light weight training.  I do one body area a day (1 day is legs, another day is back, etc.).  I feel so much better when I get to the gym and keep hearing how much it's going to help me through L&D and for bouncing back afterward.

Thanks for the encouragment-I think I will try to do my best to get my routine going again for the next 7 weeks!  I can really tell a difference in the way I feel since I stopped-not sure if it's just that the baby has dropped and I'm farther along or the lack of excercise, but I'll give it a shot again and see if it helps!

  • I stuck with my step class once a week until week 35- I also do Pilates once a week and then cardio with light weights twice a week. It's getting harder to find the motivation but I feel so much better once I get into the gym!
  • I still do my normal gym classes (like Step and Cardio dance) but it is defnitely getting harder with all the pressure. And I am looking ridiculous too! I will keep this up till Christmas and then for the last few weeks I think I will do Aqua-fit with the seniors, lol!! (and of course walking)
