Pregnant after a Loss

Any advice for m/s?

This m/s is terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am such a complete wimp when it comes to nausea, it literally brings me to my knees.  I have no idea how I am going to function at work today, I might call my doc for some Zofran or something.

Anyone have any tips?  I am going insane...

Re: Any advice for m/s?

  • I found a nice tea that works really well.  Check our your local super market for Tazo brand teas in the coffee/tea section and buy the flavor called Calm.  I swore by it. It worked wonders every time.  It totally took my naseau away within 15 minutes every time.  Good luck and hang in there!

  • M/s "cures" are different for everyone - you kind of have to experiment a little. For me the only thing that took the edge off the nausea was sucking on hard candy, especially little citrus candies, or fruity Tic-tacs. And it only worked as long as they were in my mouth!
  • Zofran is the only thing that worked for me all day. Unfortunately, my doc didn't give it to me until week 12. For some (very) temporary relief try: preggie pops (don't know what's in them but they taste great and take the edge off), Morning Wellness tea (I think it's by Earth Mama Angel Baby), taking some sniffs of pure peppermint oil. That's all that's worked for me so far. GL!

  • B6 worked for me for nausea - I took 25-50 mg 3x/day.  Also, eating every 2 hours helped - but the food HAD to contain protein, or no dice.

If it's really bad, you can try 1/2 Unisom at night with the B6 during the day - that is a miracle cure and it's considered very safe (you can Google it).

And...I took Zofran for migraines when I had intractable vomiting.  I will take it again for any future migraines, too.

  • I've been puking daily since before I got my BFP. Nothing has really helped except phenergan and even with that I still throw up once a day or so. If you're miserable I'd ask the doctor for meds - I waited a long time to do it and wish I had asked sooner (preferably before I had to get IV fluids on more than one occasion).
  • My doc gave me Zofran on Monday when I told him I was so sick I wasn't eating.  It hasn't been a miracle drug, but at least I can eat some now.  Try ginger ale, but make sure it is made with real ginger.  I know Canada Dry is made with real ginger.

  • Saltines and gingerale (canada dry) worked for me for a little while.... but I had to eat it in bed. Some days eating dry cereal works, if your at home or have a frezzer at work popsicles worked to keep my hydrated. I was so sick most days that all I could keep down. Some times pepermint or ginger tea would work, spree candies. There was never anything that worked all the time. I found if I could eat better at night before I went to bed I was a little better in the morning. But most nights dinner time was hard too. Try popcorn it still helps if I get nausous.I did finally get zofran at 12 weeks and still take it daily. Dr. told me not to worry about the baby or weight gain as long as your taking your prenatals. Hope you can find some relief soon....  i know its not fun. But hang in there... I still have to tell myself to keep my eyes on the prize!
