Anything I've read strongly encourages doing kegels & about 10 sets/day. They're not hard to do, just hard to remember to do. I don't think I've ever heard my family or friends tell me to do them, and none of them seem to have any issues post baby. I'm wondering, especially from 2nd time + moms, do I really need to do them?
Re: How important are kegels really?
well I didnt do them really. I never could be remember, or I was too lazy... they are actually pretty tiring somehow, especially in the 3rd tri.
The only time I have noticed issues is now with being pregnant again. TMI: Every single time I sneeze, I pee a little. I dont full-blown pee myself, but some does come out. So Im going to try harder to do them this time.
Yeah, I've been much more diligent about them lately. I usually hold my sneezes in and I did it last week and came closer than I'd like to peeing. I decided they're worth it, and am reminded to do them daily since I sneeze at least once a day.
Yes, they're important. They're not so important that you need to set an alarm to do them every day, but don't intentionally blow them off either.
I sometimes pee when I sneeze, puke, orgasm, or cough too hard. Kegels will also help you get your pelvic floor muscles back into shape faster after birth, which in turns help sex retain its good feeling.
