I want to get Avery's daycare provider a gift for Xmas. Avery started there at the end of Sept and only goes one day a week (it's an in-home daycare). How much do you think I should spend??
When G was in daycare last year, he was there full time, but we didn't have a lot of extra money in the budget so I spent $15 on a really cute cookie jar shaped like a Christmas ornament, and filled it with cookies I'd baked, and she loved it.
This is my first time giving our DC teachers a gift, too. DS just started in October. I guess the best answer is whatever your budget will allow. I've heard giftcards are always nice, no matter how much is on them. DS has 2 teachers in his room (he goes full time), so I was thinking of spending $25 each on gift certificates to a local spa/salon. There's really no way we could do more than that. I've seen others on the national board mention that they spend MUCH more - it must be nice.
My son goes to the sitter 5x/week and I absolutely love my sitter so we got her a $50 gift card. However, since your LO only goes 1x/week I wouldn't spend that much.
Ethan goes to an in home daycare and we are getting her a GC to their fav restaurant. We need to see how much a dinner is first. But probably $50. We also got her this poem from the craft show and are framing it. We love her and I don't know what we would do without her

I like JenJar's idea - that's really cute!
