worried about my friend

Hi ladies.

I just got word that my friend who is 22 weeks pregnant with triplets is being sent to the hospital for observation b/c of "funneling of her cervix".

can anyone give me any insight on this? I am worried.

    more experienced triplet moms might be able to answer this better, but I'll give it a try. Basically a funneling cervix is not a good sign, but I think that lots of bedrest and maybe meds to manage any contractions can help to keep the babies in for awhile longer.

    My nutritionist had triplets, and she had funneling of her cervix at 21 weeks, and was on a combination of home and hospital bedrest for 7 weeks before delivering 3 healthy babies at 28 weeks.

    good luck to your friend! she probably will need lots of emotional support during this stressful time.
