Stressing too much.....

I am 18 weeks and not sure if I've felt the babies yet.  I think I've felt one of the babies but definitely not both.  I could be paranoid but now I'm worried that maybe one of the babies is not well.  I have my next Sono on Monday 12/21 but the worry and fear that something is wrong is stressing me out.  I just need to vent and talk to someone because I don't want to worry my husband.  I just can't wait for my next doctor's appointment and see both babies so I can ease my worry.

Thank you for listening.....

Re: Stressing too much.....

  • Try to not worry too much (so much easier said than done!). I didn't feel much at 18 weeks, and when I did it was only on Baby A's side (they are left/right side by side). I still tend to feel A more than B. I don't know for sure, but it could be because of the position of the placentas (both of mine are anterior). Deep breaths! And call your Dr if you get too worried-- maybe they can reassure you, too.

  • Its still early for some to feel movement...and if you have anterior placentas that could also be part of the problem.  And, thinner people feel stuff earlier, so if you're on the heavier side that could have an effect.

I feel A A LOT more than B because of the placenta, but I only know that because of the u/s.  Try to take deep breaths.

  • I didnt feel the babies actively kick and move until 22-23 weeks.  And I didnt feel Baby B on a regular basis until closer to 30 weeks, as he shifted head down.  Before that, his placenta position prevented me from feeling him.

  • You guys are definitely making me feel better.  My babies are also side by side but I don't know what type of placentas I have so since my doctor's appointment is on Monday, I figure I can wait until my Sono to see if everything is fine. I'll also ask them what type of placentas I have and see if I should worry about anything. But in the meantime, I know I have to relax and willl take your advice by taking deep breaths.

    Thank you
