I am working on building a freezer stash. I am wondering however what reasons there are for making one. Im just curiouse sorry if this sounds like a stupid question.
its nice to have some BM on hand if you want to run errands or if you and DH want to go out you can have dh or someone who's watching LO give him/her a bottle.

In the beginning, so that you and DH can have date night!
After you return to work, for some women (I speak from experience) it is hard to maintain supply. You almost have to maintain a bit of an oversupply to keep up with what LO is drinking at daycare. I was using my freezer stash (like maybe 4 oz a week or so) to supplement what I was pumping at work every day. Also, unless you have an oversupply, you will pretty much only pump what is needed for daycare, and if you want to leave LO for a date night or with a babysitter you really won't have any milk left.
Also, since I lost my freezer stash when the outlet tripped, I highly, highly recommend always having some in the house freezer and some in the chest freezer. Knock on wood, I have only had to supplement 6oz of formula through this whole ordeal, but even that was tough for me to accept!
Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.
I initially built one b/c I was going back to work and occasionally working/being away from baby can decrease the milk supply. I wanted to have as much as possible. Now, I rotate my stash with milk I pump at work. I will use the extra to mix with his first foods and feed to him when I wean. there were a few nights that my supply was low due to stress at work/ not drinking enough, and it took the stress off of me to just give my lo some milk that I had previously pumped instead of giving formula (which my lo has never had)
