The thought of water (or any drink) makes me want to gag....

What to do about it?  I need to be drinking more, but I'm having a hard time with it today....  any tips, tricks, advice?

  • I've been doing popsicles to get more liquid in the morning. I am drinking a gingerale right now since the nausea passed(thank you God) around 1:00 pm.

  • If the water is ice cold I can usually get it down better.  I know some people put a lemon in it.  Or try lemonade, the sour stuff usually helps me.

  • I squeeze a little bit of lemon in mine when I don't feel like drinking plain water.
  • soup... although the salt in most soups probably outweigh the fluid you get from it.... but I find soup gives temporary relief. or even decaf tea. sometimes warm drinks work better for me. good luck!
  • It helps me if it's REALLY cold and I also find I drink more if I use a straw.  A little lemon or lime juice squirted in the glass helps me when I don't want to drink plain water but the thought of anything else makes me queasy.
  • Sprite's my desperation drink, the carbonation helps me.  I try to drink 'healthier' when I can, but I figure if it keeps me from tossing the liquid and everything else back up...

  • I have the same problem.  My doctor said to sip on Gatorade every 10 minutes to help replenish electrolytes.  I got the G2 Gatorade so there aren't as many calories.  I think it helps.
