Babies on the Brain

What is your Christmas menu?

The smell of turkey makes me want to puke right now and DH hates ham so I think I am doing:

Brisket

Wild rice with mushrooms

Squash Casserole

Green Salad

Corn bread

Re: What is your Christmas menu?

  • wine.

    and whatever my Grandma cooks.

  • Loading the player...
  • usually some sort of steak, potato and salad. And a pie.

  • Christmas Eve is with "my" family.

    We have:

    Lasagna

    French Bread

    Salad

    Dessert

J and I try to do "our" Christmas at noon on Christmas eve.  So I usually make a lunch.  I haven't done the same every year so I don't know what I will cook.  I am thinking of starting a tradition of a soup and sandwhich.  Just something homemade and warm since we will have a heavy dinner later.

ETA...I forgot the booze.  Brandy slushes during the day and wine at night.

Christmas day varies from year to year but involves going to the outlaws at some point in time.

Not sure what direction we are headed. Either way, I am up for the ride.
  • We always do a big breakfast.....I wish we did a dinner too.

And I'm usually stuck cooking the breakfast.  Aebleskivers, eggs, bacon, the basics.

  • I was effectively cut out of bringing anything for Christmas dinner (jealous sibling of my cooking ability and family adoration). I am however "allowed" to bring appetizer dishes for the marathon of Christmas Card playing.

I am (because I'm a spiteful conniving b1tch) going to go all out and create a smorgisboard of amazing appetizers that will put their entire dinner to shame but I have not decided on my battle plan..I mean menu yet.

Afterall, being vindictive is what Christmas is all about right?

  • Love your plan Buckin.

And PS. I just googled dirty martini dip and it looks amazing.

  • Lasagna, garlic bread and salads for dinner.

Maybe taco soup for lunch, or maybe we'll go out.   Not sure yet.

I did a HUGE thing for Thanksgiving and I'm just not up for all of that again for Christmas.

  • lmao Buckin.

We're going to my parents' house for dinner. They're making roast beef and ham. I hope I feel like eating meat again by then because I love ham and will be so sad if I have to miss it.
