Elmhurst vs. Christ (Oak Lawn)

Hello Gals! I am new to the Bump (7 weeks pg). I am currently getting my prenatal care through Elmhust Center for Health. I really like the doctors that I have seen so far, but that would mean I would deliver at Elmhurst hospital. The new one won't be ready until 2011. I am sure the old one is good (just a little....old). Anyone have any experiences delivering at Elmhurst?

I live in Hickory Hills and closer to Christ hospital. I don't know much about this hospital either. Should I switch to Christ since I am closer? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Definately stick with Elmhurst.... I would not go to Christ unless I really had to. Palos is nice and might be closer for you instead of Christ....

I actually live in Palos Hills. I just switched to Christ (my OB is in Orland Park). I dont think there is anything wrong with Christ, they have an excellent children's Hospital (Hope). My sister worked at Hope for a few years as a peds. nurse (before moving) and she recommended that I go to Christ vs. Palos. She says that if (**god forbid**) something goes wrong during delivery, she would feel safer if I was at Christ. HTH. I really can't say anything neg. about any places...this being my first Big Smile

All I can say about Elmhurst is my ex-stepmother is an anesthesiologist there and she's about 10 kinds of crazy. I personally will avoid that hospital like the plague.

I delivered at Christ and thought it was a good hospital. plus they have a great NICU and hope childrens hospital.
