Anyone have any plans for an excersize routine/diet once the baby comes?
Right now I'm super motivated to want to lose the weight once LO arrives. I've NEVER been a runner, but DH was a track and XC stud so I really want him to teach me. Living in Colorado with the snow, cold and ice I'm scared my motivation won't be nearly as high as it is now. I also have Jillian's 30 Day Shred which I heard kicks your butt. We'll see how it goes!
Re: How are you planning on losing the baby weight?
Breastfeeding and walking.
We have a nice jogging stroller that came with a car seat. So I plan on putting the little guy in there and literally walking my butt off after he arrives.
Plus I'm in my brother's wedding in May, I want to lose as much as possible before then.
DS #1 born January 2010. DS #2 due June 2014.
I'm hoping BFing works.
But DH and I have a workout plan, too. Both sets of parents live within 10 minutes of each other and us, so at least twice a week we're planning to take LO for some grandparent time and go workout for an hour. We'll do this as soon as I'm cleared for exercise. It will be good for us physically and I think it will be nice for us to get some time in together, even if it's just a few hours a week.

I am still working out 3-4 days a week and the trainers (and other resources) keep reassuring me that by keeping up my workouts now will make losing the baby weight "a snap." I also have not gained much, so I'm hoping that will help, too.
Once LO arrives, I plan to BF. I will walk with the baby anytime I can (indoors since its so cold here in the winter) and "work out" with the baby in the house once I'm cleared. I do want to get back in the gym when I can manage it, too. I'm my sisters Matron of Honor in the middle of July so I will adjust my plan as needed to be sure I'm back to awesome for the wedding!
I counted on breastfeeding last time and only lost half the pregnancy weight. I wish we lived somewhere warmer so we could get out for walks - maybe towards the end of my maternity leave or, if I feel like a bit of a drive, we could walk around the Mall of America.
Otherwise, I plan starting the 30 Day Shred again. I'd been doing it for 2-3 weeks when I found out I was pg and it was too rigorous for me to keep going (I was pretty out of shape). I also have a Wii Fit that I might pull out and actually use, if I need to ease into the 30DS (it really does kick your butt).
I'm planning a 1/2 marathon in April, so hopefully the training for that will work some wonders. Also plan on BFing.
As a side note, a friend of mine told me, that in order to maximize weight loss through BFing, you need a diet full of protein!

Yes, it's a video - Jillian from Biggest Loser is the trainer. It's supposed to really kick your butt.
I'm still working out 3-4 times a week which I'm hoping to continue until delivery.
I plan on bfing, which hopefully will help shed some lbs. And doing the 30d shred. Once spring arrives, I'll be back outside running
Thanks. I'm assuming you should do it every day? Can you start as soon as you feel up to it, or wait for clearance from your doc? Do I need anything (free weights, ball, mat, etc...) to go along with it?
Hahha why don't I just google it?!

I got a book from the library of exercises you can do with your baby. That was helpful until it was warm enough to get outside and walk/run.
My biggest plan is to cut out the junk food!
I love Sparkpeople! I used it a couple of years ago to lose 70 lbs.
I lost over 80 pounds with Weight Watchers about 5 years ago. I plan on going back on their plan (there is a modified version for BFing mothers) since it suited me well and I still have all of the guides.
Kudos to you for trying running. I hate running, but I LOVE walking!
