  • Don't judge! Been there! Once on our way to a store out of town DD fell asleep. I really needed to do my shopping and so I pulled a blanket out of the car, laid it down in the cart, and laid her on top of it. She slept the entire time. Granted I used the front of the basket and a handheld one to carry my stuff instead of piling it on top of her. But it was the most peaceful shopping trip I've ever had with her. haha!

  • I remember doing this as a little girl. lol I could sleep ANYWHERE and when I was ready, there was no stopping me. It made shopping easier for my mom.

  • Are you calling this a don't? I don't see anything wrong, he got sleepy and Mom went on shopping. He's in no danger. If he was uncomfortable he wouldn't be sleeping! lol
  • I don't think this is a don't. You do what you have to do. It looks like there is all paper products in front of him. Styrofoam cups/plates/napkins.
  • This is really hard to avoid.... My lil man passed out while shopping (it wasnt even his naptime yet) I grabbed a roll or paper towels for him to rest his head on, and he happily slept then continued to sleep in the car, then at home...so he clearely needed the nap.
  • I wouldn't put this in the don't column.  Looks like one sleepy kid!
  • I can't see the pic.
  • I think the "don't" is coming from the piling of groceries on top of the kid, not so much that he's sleeping.

  • Yeah, don't judge.  It's happened to me before...some kids will sleep anywhere.  You can sit here and say "Wait till after nap to do your shopping" but sometimes it just can't work out that way.  I've learned with two kids (and a third on the way) that not everything fits neatly into a schedule.  As a parent you have to be flexible.

  • Once you have a child, assuming you don't already, you will realize how this can happen. There are times when you have to keep going but they are just ready to sleep. I have only had this happen twice but thankfully I didn't have to pile anything on top of him. Even though he wouldn't have noticed even if I did :)
