It's like something out of a sci-fi movie

I had my u/s this morning and asked the u/s tech if I could see what was what.  She showed me my uterus and lining then moved over to my right ovary.  2 huge-looking bubbles.  I was like whoa!!  Those are big.  She said "wait until you see the left".  Holy crap!!  I had no idea follicles got so big!  I asked her if they are lifesize - yep, they are pretty close.  No wonder I can feel my ovaries right now!  They are like an inch big!  I can't even imagine how the IVFers feel with sometimes 20+.

I have 2 mature on the left - 29, 28 and 1 on the right - 16 and some other smaller ones in the 13-14 range.  I forget all the numbers - need to wait for my coordinator to call later. 

And a small funny - I was in the waiting room and one of the nurses called Julia to go in.  Two women stood up.  The nurse indicated which person she wanted and asked the other "Is your name Julia too"?  The other women says "No it's Kate".  Do those names sound remotely familiar to you?  LOL

    Thats so weird that you can feel your ovaries.  I had cysts in mine a few years back that were the size of grapefruits (one in each).  I didn't know a thing until I collapsed in pain because they were growing so large they could no longer fit.  When they took out the cysts.. I was 10 pounds lighter!!

    Thats so great about how your follicles are growing!! Congrats and GOOD LUCK!!!! Big Smile

    Isn't it awesome to see your insides? I love when they show me!

    The 28 and 29 sound over-mature. What is the deal? When is your IUI? They might wait for the 16, the 13 and the 14s to grow a bit.

    You might want to ask about a trigger shot for next cycle so they can get you to surge when they are less mature. Not to burst your bubble.. just FYI. I am sure they know what they are doing and it will be fine! :)

    ETA: I am praying there will not BE a next cycle!!

    Those are nice sife follies. Now imagine how I feel having 5 huge follies around that size. My ovaries were screaming for help hehe

    I would ask on IF to be sure but it sounds like the bigger ones are too-ripe. They just basically dissolve if they are too mature (can't fertilize). That's not bad though because you still have some other ones that can mature over the next day or so, it's not the end of the world. I hope I didn't scare you.

    YAY!! I am so excited for you that things are progressing well and the IUI is tomorrow. Will keep you in my thoughts all day tomorrow:)

    WOW!  I guess that why some IVF ladies say they feel like they are waddling from the stims.
