As I started wrapping the kids presents yesterday I came to the realization that Santa screws us parents over. I was trying to figure out what presents were from "Santa" and which were from us and of course the ones from us are the "boring" presents, such as clothes, crayons etc. Because afterall Santa doesn't bring those types of presents, he brings the "fun" presents. This just makes Santa look waaaay better than mommy and daddy because Santa brings bigger & better.
Anyways (sorry got a little off track there), my original question that I wanted to ask is...how many presents are from Santa and how many are from mommy and daddy?
Re: "Santa" question
At my DH's insistence, all presents from us are from Santa. He swears he never thought his parents were mean for not getting him Christmas presents.
If I had my way, only one big present and the stocking would be from Santa.
LOL! I see what you're saying.
I'm still trying to decide. Santa has brought everything in the past. Even the boring ole socks in the stocking! Ha ha ha.
I'm starting to feel like we're getting the shaft, though. All that work. The shopping, the trudging all over town, the wrapping...and then Santa gets all the credit.
i haven't really thought about it...all of the boys' presents this year are boring (blankets, new bath towels, stuff like that) but they have no idea who santa is yet, so i'll worry next year...
growing up, i thought it was SO COOL that santa had the same handwriting as my mom AND dad. so neat!!!
How to tell my boys apart
The different types of twins and triplets
Jack, Sydney and Carynne, Annaleigh, JW, Eden...forever in our hearts.
My blog * We made the national news!
All of our presents are from "Santa". When she is older I will make sure she knows who "santa" really was!
I think I'm gonna write a letter and stick it in her baby book... lol
As a child, I don't remember thinking "man, this Santa guy is SO much better than my parents, they suck!" I just remember being so wrapped up in everything & excited. I'm sure as parents, you are happy just to see the joy on their face, and eventually, they will know it was all from you anyway!
Since we're not specifying Santa yet, since DD is so young, I'm not sure how many we'll do. I think the biggest present will definitely always be from Santa, then a few here & there. Just not sure yet.
DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
This. For DH, Santa presents were not wrapped. Hey...that's easier for me.
