Friend does't believe me

So a good friend of mine is due two days before I am.  This is her second child, and the twins are my first.

We were talking yesterday about things and I said I feel the babies frequently.  It's graduated from fluttering to feeling like someone is touching me from the inside.

She says it's not the the babies, it's just gas bc it's too early to feel that much activity.  But I thought that with twins, it's normal to feel things a little earlier.

Anyone have any info for me?

  • i definitely don't think it's too early to feel your babies! granted, i didnt' feel mine until much later, but that doesn't mean anything. maybe she's like me, and just won't feel hers until a little later.

that said, i don't think people with multiples necessarily feel theirs earlier. like i said, i didn't feel mine until much later - 22 weeks or so!

  • I feel mine quite frequently now and started to feel flutters around 16w.  So I am sure what you are feeling are the babies.  My MFM Dr. was pleased to hear that I felt them move and to me that says that it's normal at this time.

  • I felt my single pregnancies by 17 weeks. With my current multiples pregnancy, I have an anterior placenta and I feel them much less than my singles even though there's two of them!

If you were like 11 weeks I might have given you the side eye but 17 weeks- totally plausible that you are feeling them.

  • I definitely felt my babies by 17 weeks, kicks felt like light pokes from the inside.

  • I was definately feeling them at 17 weeks!
  • I felt my singleton AND my twins at 15w.  Your friend has no clue... 17w is certainly posible to feel them- esp b/c it's two.
  • I started feeling "flutters" around 15 weeks as well, and now I feel my girls every day without question. OB and peri both said that it's completely normal to feel them this early!
  • Thanks everyone!  That puts my mind at ease that I'm really feeling things vs wanting to feel things.  :)

We have our big ultrasound this Thursday so I'm hoping that I'll feel something at the time they are doing something so I know for sure.

  • I'm feeling a lot of flutters lately.  We had a lunch at Olive Garden a couple of days ago and they started going crazy! ;) It's one of my favorites so it must be theirs too! ;)
