Having a new baby at home can make it hard to do anything. When my son came home, there were days I was lucky to get a shower in before noon. My only advice is to not sweat the small stuff, and do try to sleep when he does. That's rough especially when you're up in the middle of the night with him.

You have 5 responsibilities in the first months of your baby's life. 1) Feed the baby 2) Feed yourself 3) Keep baby dry, warm, and comfy 4) Help baby sleep 5) Sleep.
Anything you manage to do outside of that is icing on the cake. I seriously didn't do anything but those things until he was almost 3 months old (going to the grocery sparingly, cooking dinner 2 maybe 3 times a week, using grandparent help as much as possible).

This is good advice! Don't try to do anything more than the basics. Those first few weeks at home were crazy. Do you have a "pumping station" set up? I had all my gear in one place, and I used the Medela pump wipes and the steamer bags to make cleanup easier. I also started using the fridge trick (put the shields/horns in the fridge rather than cleaning them between pumps) once DS got a little older.
Seriously, the beginning is pure adrenaline. I was lucky to shower every other day, barely slept. Robbie did NOT sleep at first and my husband was completely clueless. It was pure hell. Robbie had been home about 3 weeks when my husband said I needed to be cooking and cleaning more and I literally almost punched him, and I did tell him I'd get a divorce lawyer the next day. I was serious.. I was a MESS.
But.. eventually you get there. The baby will start to have patterns that you'll learn and you'll figure it out. Not tomorrow, but in a month you'll do a little better, and in 6 months you'll have it down pat.
Re: How do you find time to do anything???
try adding a 3 y/o to the mix...when baby is awake and I have to do something...Moby Wrap. He is happy as a clam and I have two hands.
When he is asleep...move fast and tackle as much as you can...:)
There is no easy answer to this!
