I realized I need LOTS of things to do when the big day arrives. What have you ladies packed? Crossword puzzles? Gossip mags? A good book? I have no idea what I'll do when I'm in labor for 16 hours. I can't just stare at the TV endlessly like my DH!!

DH and I were just talking about this last night. My labor with DS was 12 hours and all I had to entertain myself was the TV in the delivery room. This time I am going to be sure to bring some crossword puzzles and maybe a movie or two.

I know this sounds a little juvenile but we have a Nintendo DS, there is this game called scribblenauts, Let me tell you! that is what got me through my 3 hour glucose test.

That happened to me yesterday and now I have to reevaluate! We have UNO cards and another card game, People magazines, IPod and ITouch with chargers, baby book. I was only at the hospital 3 hours and thought....this is too much TV for me now! I am interested in others' answers.

I'll have to look for that game...we have the braingames. But mine is totally going in my bag...lol

Our hospital has DVD players in the rooms so we are going to bring movies and they have WiFi so we will bring the laptop. I'm hoping to get my epi and sleep though.

I plan to download a lot of brainless games on my ipod touch for L&D. Like bejeweled and things of that sort that require very little concentration but pass the time.

DH and I just realized this when we got sent to L&D last week. We didn't even bring magazines and we were bored out of our minds for the 5 hours we were there.

I have a scheduled c/section, so I don't think I'll have the same 16-hour wait, but there will still be slow times, both before and after dd comes. I'm planning on getting a trashy book and some mags to get me thru - nothing too hard, but stuff that I can pick up when I want or need 15 minutes of distraction.
