Babies: 3 - 6 Months

How many baby items?

Ok so how many baby items are in your front room at one time.  One a day to day basis?  DH thinks I have to many things in the front room.  I have the excersaucer, rocker and a few toys that sit in the rocker when he's not in it.  Is that to much?  I dont see why I should have to put it in his room every time he's not in it.  He uses them all day long.  Thanks for the input :)

Re: How many baby items?

  • I usually take it out and put it away when I'm done...today however...I have a papasan chair, a playmat and exersaucer -he's too young for this now - and a boppy...whoops!

  • LOL we have the jumperoo, playmat, bouncy and a box of toys! Might be a little overkill considering he's only up for 2 hours when we get home in the evenings.
  • we have his swing, and then the blanket for floor time and a few toys. he's too short for the jumperoo :( but when he grows another inch or two, we'll bring that out here too.
  • like in the living room? we have the excersaucer, the jumperoo, some kinda of monkey piano toy, learn and grove table, and like a little basket of books and toys. We spend most of our day in the living room.
  • In our living room we only have his Jumperoo.  He used the swing until 3 months and then the bouncer until 5 months (when he started sitting unassisted).  Then of course we have his blanket/foam mat in the middle of the floor for him to play on with all his toys scattered on it (then the rest are in a canvas bin under an end stand).

Tell him it gets worse once LO starts playing with bigger toys and doesn't know how to clean-up lol

  • I have issues with clutter, so I put almost everything away when we're done with it.  The only thing I have out at any given time is the activity mat because there's no room in his bedroom for it.

  • We have the exersaucer, swing, playmat and a basket of toys.  We don't really use the swing, but haven't seen our friends to give it back to them yet.

  • The jumperoo remains in the living room, and her walker and swing are in the kitchen.  They stay there.

I have a folded up quilt and a canvas crate of toys that also stays in the living room.  I rotate them out every once in awhile with toys in her nursery to make sure she has a chance to play with all of them.

Maybe have a special place to put the toys when not in use?

  • We have a front living room we don't use then a back family room that we constantly use, so thats where DDs stuff is. Currently there is a jumperoo, a bouncer and a PnP that is filled with a bumbo, playmat and a few toys. There is also a basket with her little toys (teethers, rattles) in it on the coffee table. Usually the swing is in this room too, but we moved it to the front room to make room for the Christmas tree. It doesn't feel crowded, but our family room is pretty big.

  • He'd hate my house, lol.  We have the exersaucer, playmat, swing, and toy box in here.  Though I am considering putting the swing away because we hardly ever use it anymore.  I figure the other things will eventually be phased out and we'll just have the toy box and the leapfrog table in here.  So for a few more months, we'll be dealing with our living room looking like a baby playland.

I have them in wicker baskets in his room.  I only leave his teether and his second lovie in the rocker when he's not wanting them.  I have the blankets up in the closet so those arent in the way.  He just doent want his 2 big items in the room.  I'm home all day and thats the room I'm in 90% of the time so they are staying :)  Plus they arent in the middle of the room, they are off to the side.

I would love for my family room to look like a baby playland!!  I want him to feel like its his place too.  Its not like its messy or anything.  Everything is placed nicely.  Men just irritate me today I guess.  Lol

  • Always in front room....swing, play mat, pack n play, and bumbo.  Some times little toys, which get put away in a basket.  I don't think that you have too much out.

  • I have a jumperoo and swing. We have a two story house so it's a bit different I think. I'm not lugging a swing and jumperoo up and down stairs!
  • Way too many! We have the jumperoo, her swing, her bouncer and lots and lots of toys! This is on a day to day basis. The only stuff we put away are her toys, everything else just sits in our living room.
