with ivf, how did you calculate wks of pregnancy (very early)?

I'm a little confused of how to exactly calculate "how pregnant" I am.  When I had my first u/s today, I asked Dr.and she said, you're around 5 weeks...we use the date of your first menstrual.  Well, my cycle was totally controlled, I was on BCP and lupron...bleeding during pill for last 4 days or so, but stopped pill and then had heavier bleeding, so I counted my "start date" as Nov 4.  I ended up having my ER on 11/21 and 3dt on 11/24.  So, based on her answer and the calendar, I'd be about 5 wks, 5 days... I plan to confirm this with Dr. again next week...but still curious.. is this how you counted??? I've read and heard different things.   Thanks!!!

    I used the IVF Due Date calculator (just google it, I cant remember the site) and so did my RE. When I told my OB we did IVF he went from date of ER, so it was the same calculation.

    Retrieval date is considered the day you ovulate.  Start counting that as "week 2".

    Also, considering when you're on so many meds....  I acutally figured out what "week zero" was and told my doctor that was the first day of my last period.  Which was a lie, of course.

    My RE counted the date of ER as ovulation.

    thanks!!! I went to that recommended link/calculator... I am 5 wks, 2 days!  WOW.  I am very cautious and probably won't say that anywhere other than right here on this board!!!!  :)

    My RE said it was from the date of the trigger shot.  Now I am really confused
